Any excuse for a slide show - we've been to Devon!

In light of Frances' slideshow I have done my own Devon slide show. We may have walked the very earth that Frances herself treads as there is a pic of the kids on a bike contraption in Illfracombe. (where she lives). Also pics of Exmoor, Lynmouth, and Combe Martin during the very hot summer a few years ago when it felt like being in the Med. Here is the raft race in the evening with people carousing on the beach till sunset. Also a pic of my body only because I am a mystery woman. I think I was going to show Eleanor how to work the camera but she obviously got the hang of it before I got to her. If you look at Jack he looks a bit fed up of waiting for the pic to be taken, posing in front of the hollyhock. Also Mark eating a Devonshire cream tea - how much more Devony can you get?

Well, well. It's a mighty small world. I can't wait for Frances to see this. Wonder if she'll reply with pics of a past trip to Hull? ;)

Wonder where else our numerous international blog feet might have crossed paths?

What would have been really astounding is if Frances had shown up on one of your pictures. That would have been really weird! Do you guys live that close together or did you just happen to make that long of a trip?

You see my geographical knowledge of England is not great. Yes, I do know where London is and Oxford and Wales and Scotland and Cornwall. I am kind of vague about the rest. I hang my head in shame!

We live a long way away from each other, Sweet Irene. It was a heck of a journey to get to the South West, and on this occasion we camped at Porlock ('man from Porlock' if you know your English poetry). We have been all over the South Coast. Apparently the bike things were there before Frances came to the area, but I wonder whether she recognises the very distinctly painted pub behind them.

It was sort of a side road leading out to the sea front. I also remember many weird and wonderful crafty type shops to the left of where this pic was taken.

Hi, Ive tried twice to enter a photo on your site, it keeps coming up e-mail invalid!!!.

Don't anybody go on Akinol. It's a spam connection. I went on this the other day and it nearly crashed my computer, but for the efforts we took to retrieve the situation.

Big Biker Bob, I really don't understand e-mails. I don't know why this is coming up invalid. I have tried to e-mail from this laptop but can't do it. It may be something to do with the fact my husband has a computer with the ame e-mail. I will go and check you e-mails on this computer. I am going to your site now to check out the Devon stuff. Because I have been freaked out by the Spam comments I thought at first you may be Side Show Bob, the freaky character from the Simpsons, but after looking at your site I can see you are really a great aimable person. I love Devon so let's see what you have.

Obviously not actually Side Show Bob, as he is a fictional character, but maybe his real-life counterpart.

Thought I'd better add that

Your comments always are so civil and kind - endearing you know - my best, Bev. Also to any pets if they are about....

There are egrets flying over your house as we "speak."

That's great, John. Never seen an actual egret, but been on my mind a lot recently.

Did you go over to Frances' blog and leave her a comment to come and visit you? I would give that a try and then maybe you can move on to the other things you want to move on to.

Just a thought.

Hugs.

Sorry - I did look at these and read the comments a few days ago, but had to rush off.
Debi would probably be surprised to know I was born in Hull, well Beverley... but I haven't been back. If I do, I will definitely try and take photos of my trip.
Liked the slide show. I was inspired by Irene's marvellous mandala one. I am trying to do what she has done and put a slide show of various things in the side bar.
Weirdly, I found an old photograph of Ilfracombe from the late 80's - I didn't remember it very well, but I think I drove through by accident on a tour round North Devon. I didn't realise I had been here before we came looking for a cheap house LOL. Can you remove that spam thing, Bev? I get some weird ones nowadays. I just delete them from my blog.

No sweat Frances. Just thought you might be interested.

Another of those things have popped up. I may try the deletion thing but am almost too scared to touch it after what happened last time. These things are really not very nice, and got one on my Mother' Day Posting too. What are the motives of people who like doing things like this? Completely malicious and pointless.
