Christmas is a time of year when miracles traditionally happen. It certainly does in this house as here is a picture of my daughter Eleanor playing the double bass in her school orchestra. Since I have never seen her practising the thing this is something of a miracle. It seems our strategy of choosing the double bass has paid off as the bass line usually has long low simple notes, not like the fiddly complicated bits played by the violins which obviously need more practice. Here is a silly picture of the person in question which she secretly took last night while my camera was out.

hmmmm. she needs to learn how to use the flash...
I agree, but sometimes the non-use of the flash is flattering, but not if you pull silly faces.
Kids like to do this sort of thing, surprising you when you least expect it :) My friend at work's daughter took a killer photo of herself that I photoshop tinted and which will be given back to her in a frame for Christmas. Surprise in reverse..ha ha.
I've had several of these surprise camera deposits. I have a niece who loves to do that especially. And even my young granddaughter has done the same. It always makes me laugh to see them. What next? Dixie, my dog?
I used to play French Horn in school. I think I practiced as much as Eleanor. (I laughed at the "miracle.") Ask my mom. I was good too! ha ha First chair all two years. =)
Lovely naughty little face. And now we can see she looks a little like her Mum.
You must have been overflowing with pride.
Ha! Silly girl! Isn't it funny how once in a while they can really surprise you when you thought you knew everything about them?
Cool:) You must be so proud. Well ofcourse you are! I get all gushy and emotional when ever I see mine doing a performance.
Nice suprise too! Mine would't dare pick up my camera lol but I find little notes from them. One I found recently said
-Make crosses
-Make stars
-Make christmas cards
-Make sure Mum is ok.

Lisa, those are lovely words from your kids. Like a mini Christmas poem to your Mum.
I would imagine they wouldn't dare pick up your camera. I have a good idea what it is like from seeing your pictures of the butterfly lol
Bobbie, what a great idea!
