Two Things Challenge Forsaken/Foundling

I was walking the dogs today and found this hedge, leafless and forsaken in the winter.

However, on closer inspection I found in it's branches a little round baby holly berry, nestling in the leaves as though they were blankets.

How cool! I love the juxtaposition of the seemingly dead wood against the vibrant life of the holly. So perfect for the Christmas season. Great entry and well done, Bev!

I never used to miss anything. I think its great what you see around you and the observations you make.
I seem to be oblivious to all around me now, in a stupor!

I love your entry. The barren and twisted branches remind me of the crown of thorns worn by Jesus. It is great that you noticed the way it all knitted together and related back to it symbolicaly. Your sweet holly berry is like the promise of salvation, that those who want it will not be forsaken. Really love your entry Bev!

It's my turn to say that I didn't notice the relationship to the crown of thorns, but I can see that now! Many thanks for your insight, Lisa!

Hi Beverly,

What a great set of entries!! I have been struggling with this one ... and not being able to give it the proper time yet.

I like very much that you found in the abandoned!!

Bev, I bet it was doubly delightful to find that holly berry -- first because what a pleasant, unexpected surprise, and second because it gave you your shot for 2 Things Challenge. Woo hoo!

I think you are still keenly observant even though you say you are in a stupor. It could have something to do with having rambunctious-aged kids at home.

Bravo on your 2 Things. Perfect.
