Jack Bailey's photo session

Here is a photo session by Jack. He eventually managed to get the camera pointing the right way. I am photo phobic and do not like having my photo taken because I always look a bit guarded and selfconscious. You can see how I'm leaning away from the camera. I'm only doing this because I have been horrible to Frances, and I don't do this for anybody, mind. I went through this so that we could see the lovely pictures of Frances and her daughter. I have just being reading Sweet Irene's posting today about people being neurotic (like Woody Allen) so I think I can count myself in. (Don't enlarge, it looks better small, you can tell how neurotic I am, always thinking). (Now you're going to do it. Don't. More thinking). Obviously it didn't quite kill me to do it, as I am still posting another day, so don't worry about it.

Notice the thick jumper for dog walking. It's bl**dy freezing here. Also through the net curtains you can see the special Christmas star shining brightly, which shines on Hull, and nowhere else, I believe. So I've just let you in on the special secret and you are very privileged to have seen it as I don't think any of you have been to Hull at Christmas.

I love seeing you, even though you are in the dark and leaning away :) You have a lovely face and are as beautiful outside as you are inside.

I love that rueful look - but I have to agree with the others and no doubt with your children, husband and everyone who knows you, you have a beautiful face.
I am so glad to see you. Thanks for posting it.
I have seen your wedding pic, but it wasn't as clear as this.
Now you just have to promise not to remove this post immediately - I want to come and look at you a few times. BTW - I have always hated having my photo taken, I usually have to joke around and be silly - but now I'm old and crusted I regret not having pictures of myself when I was younger and more presentable (and better-dressed!) Learn from me and make sure you have some pics somewhere to look back on and wonder why you didn't realise how lovely you were!

You shouldn't hate to have your picture taken, Bev. You're a perfectly lovely woman. You should show more of yourself, not less. Show yourself in all your glory, we'll applaud you for it.

Bev, you are beautiful and adorable! And even before I could read the warning not to enlarge it I had clicked the link under New Tab. Quick, like Frances forewarns, before you delete it from your blog.

I'm trying to think who you remind me of. Some saucy but cute number. Sort of like Bjork, but maybe someone else too. A French actress maybe? I can't think of the name.

I just looked at your photo again -- in the large size, mind you -- and I love your attitude there. I know it's for Jack, but here it seems like it's for us. A smile, a quick wit and run.

Really really lovely. Christmas deocorations, the sweater, the light around your head and the tilt of your neck all suit you. Like Bobbie wrote, you are beautiful both outside and inside.

Take Frances' advice, too. Take more pictures. You don't have to post them here (but you'll hear no objection from us if you do) but you should have no fear of the camera. It is your friend.

It's a shame Debi can't take my pic and break down some barriers as she did with the characterful gentleman lol

Yeah, what they said. You are so cute! Thanks for the picture!

Wow. I agree. It is a shame I can't take your picture! You'd make a good model, even though I know you meant it with a wink. I would love to photograph you. But, honestly, Jack did a fine job. He captured an essence that is perfect.

Well done Jack. I think you look lovely!
I too avoid being in front of the camera, much more comfortable behind it!
I think that I need to do something about that though. I have tonnes of my husband with my kids but there are verrrrry few of my kids with me! It would also be nice to have a family photo..so how about you and I make a NY resolution to BE in more photos?

Hi Beverly,

Thank you for walking through coals to allow us to see you and be more part of your world!! I understand about pictures ... and not liking them taken ... my mouth is always tight!!

The star of Hull ... now I can say I have seen it.
